On her upcoming album Take Me Back with Gitcha Records, Austin-based singer-songwriter Ruby Dice explores the people, places, and moments that shape a life in music.
Take Me Back is a deeply collaborative project featuring contributions from more than a dozen Austin musicians, including Shinyribs, Bri Bagwell, Suzanna Choffel, Jordan Matthew Young, Nakia, Grey Horse, Jo James, and Scott Strickland. This record blends Country, Soul, Blues, and Americana influences while capturing the spirit of the city she calls home.
The album arrives alongside a short documentary, Making a Life Out of Art, which offers an intimate look at Dice’s journey through Austin’s music community and the realities of building an independent career.
Together, the album and film celebrate the artists, friendships, and creative spirit that continue to make Austin one of America’s great music cities.

About Ruby Dice
Ruby Dice is an Austin-based Americana artist, bassist, and bandleader known for blending Roots-driven songwriting with a bold, modern edge. Originally from Gunnison, Colorado, her sound pulls equally from mountain grit and Texas soul — equal parts country, rock, and raw honesty. Ruby has shared the stage with Brian Wilson and recorded her first release alongside members of Band of Heathens. Ruby was voted Best Bassist in Austin in 2026 by The Austin Chronicle.
